Ministries

Our approach to ministry is to help every person, whatever their age, or stage in life, to grow spiritually. To that end we attempt to think through what venues, opportunities, and materials are best. We want to meet our people where they are and take them where they need to go in their walk with the Lord.

Small Groups

Learning to know God while getting to know each other is what happens here.

Coffee, wine, desserts and snacks are usual fare, as we work together through various books and materials to both understand and appreciate our faith.

The format is conversational and involved.

Children’s Ministry

2nd & 4th Sundays at 6 p.m.
Chi Rho Kids (ages 5–12)

This is a more intense time of memory work and instruction followed by playground type activities.

Marriage & Parenting (M&P) Discussions

For most of us, our day-in/day-out spiritual needs are connected and concerned with our marriages and our children.

So we meet monthly to discuss what the Bible teaches us regarding communication, sex, discipline, caring, maturity, education, and other dynamics at play in our family lives.

Men’s Forum

Strength of heart and mind for those who are called by God to lead, protect and provide is an essential that we endeavor to foster in our sacred community.

To that end, our men meet monthly for timely and vital instruction, information and discussions.

Poiema Young Adult Retreats

If you are a single Christian young adult (18–28 years old), Poiema was started just for you.

We believe you need to realize everyday that you are vitally important to the church, and we want to challenge and encourage you to serve the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart – for the rest of your life.

At Poiema retreats you can expect your heart to be challenged. Your devotion to Christ, acknowledging His preeminence in all of life, will be examined and encouraged.

Our desire is that you leave, with more joy and confidence to serve the Lord in your local church. “For we are His workmanship [poiema in Greek], created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Classes

Our classes are interactive, so our learning isn’t passive but involves both teacher and students.

Our goal is to grow mature as Christians who are becoming more like Jesus Christ, who, by the way, is awesome.
