The Meditative War

Someone has rightly surmised that Worry is a negative form of Prayer. Both are a preoccupation of the mind. Both are an internal, ongoing conversation. So then, both are Thought Wrestling since both are always present: what we Fear, and the Hope that we have.

As Christians, our hope is in a person; a person who loves us so much that he died for us so that he could give us eternal life.

The apostle John writes:

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. (I John 4:18-19)

Meditating on what God has done for us through Jesus Christ causes us to think rightly. So don’t let your thoughts run away with you. Keep your mind stayed on Him.
